It is fast-paced, full of angst and drama, the push and pulls between our main characters and focuses more on their tumultuous relationship. The plot is basic, what you can expect from a New Adult College Contemporary Romance. The tropes include bad boy falling for the good girl, friends to lovers. When you have a boring school and college life, these are the books you live vicariously through. I first read this book in 2012 and wow, I fell in love with it! Travis Maddox blew my mind, and the angst and the drama were so damn addictive. New Adult is basically Young Adult with explicit scenes and mature characters (just the way I like it LOL). Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire was my first foray into the New Adult world, and I guess, it’s one of the first books to start the era of New Adult Romance. ![]() ![]() ![]() While marketed as a young adults novel, anyone who loves escaping into a fairy tale will love this tale of courage in the face of fear. Though at times predictable the story was lovely. ![]() Though less haunting, Gerry’s influence has never left Holly and in Postscript takes her on a truly unexpected journey. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing where life has taken Holly and how Gerry is still a part of her life today. Postscript is a heartwarming read that feels like catching up with an old friend. I Love You, you are sure to enjoy Cecilia Ahern’s newest novel. I saw Americans paying respect to their countryman. I saw no division on that plane last night. It was amazing to see everyone on that plane pay tribute to this woman and her family. The plane was filled with people of all races and religions. She was in tears and she tried consoling the woman next to her. The woman standing next to me was Muslim, I assume because of the hijab she wore. As I looked around the plane, I was hoping nobody would see my moment of weakness but to my surprise, damn near everyone on the plane was crying. Standing off to the side were soldiers from her unit saluting their fallen soldier. A mother and father hysterically crying on their fallen soldiers casket. He also asked that we give a moment of silence.Īs we sat there waiting, I decided to look out the window and this is what I saw. He asked that we remain on the plane until our soldier was removed from the plane first. When we stopped at the terminal, the pilot announced that he would like to inform us that we were flying one of our fallen soldiers home to her family. “My plane landed in Oklahoma City last night. A passenger on board wrote a message on Facebook, quickly going viral: the Facebook post was already shared 354K times. A passenger aircraft lands in Oklahoma City, while stopping at the terminal the pilot asks to remain on board until a fallen soldier was removed from the plane first. ![]() |
